AROUND THE ‘NET: Previews abound

Posted by Jeff Nusser on November 11, 2007

This time of year is ripe for prognostication. And at least one very good college basketball writer thinks the Cougs are destined for the Final Four.

Greg Hansen at the Arizona Daily Star, who I knew from my time at, published his annual College Basketball Fun House today — a primer on all things college hoops for fans. Shortly after he gets on the Cougs for their cupcake schedule (not their fault, as we all know), he ranks WSU up there with North Carolina, Kansas and Tennessee as bound for San Antonio:

“The slow-paced Cougars are better than the ’06 George Mason Final Four squad, and probably smarter, too.”

It’s a good read all around. You’ll like it.

Additionally, we’ve got this breakdown from another former colleague of mine, Todd Milles at The (Tacoma) News Tribune. I like it because it goes beyond the standard and digs a little deeper — the kind of preview true fans will enjoy. (He’s also a Coug, if you’re curious. But then again, so is Bob Condotta, the Husky writer at the Times …)
