The day after

Posted by Nuss on November 14, 2007

I don’t have a whole lot to add about the Cougs’ come-from-behind victory over Boise State last night, since there are no video highlights anywhere to be found and coverage was sparse. The big thing is that the Cougs absolutely were on fire in the second half, at one point going five-plus minutes without missing a shot. It seems as though an attitude adjustment in the locker room made the difference.

Theme for the Cougs? A good team turned it on in the second half to put away an inferior opponent.

Theme for BSU? They let one slip away.

And just a heads up: The Cougs have five committed players who should be sending in letters of intent today, as it’s the first day of the early signing period. We’ll pass that along when it becomes available.

GAME THREAD: No. 9 WSU at Boise State

Posted by Nuss on November 14, 2007

Consider this your open game thread for the non-televised contest between the Cougs and the Broncos. And it’s really not televised this time.

Looking to learn a bit about the Broncos? Here’s a preview from the local paper. Boise State lost a lot of firepower from last year’s team, especially with the loss of leading scorer Koby Karl. However, the Broncos boast a strong inside game that racked up a lot of rebounds last year, led by seniors Reggie Larry and Matt Nelson. That will be the Broncos’ focus if they’re going to stay in this one.

I’ll have some breakdown tomorrow. In the meantime, feel free to post your thoughts here as you listen to the game, or follow it online.
